Power Plant is a sound and light art experience which has won critical acclaim in major festivals around the world.

This is a rare opportunity for visual and sonic arts students to experience a series of sometimes intimate and sometimes vast art works that emerge from the natural surroundings creating strange, thoughtful, intoxicating atmospheres in sound and light.  

Walking at their own pace, visitors move along the route through a night-time garden lit up by a million flickering fireflies- a place where time is temporarily put on hold, where gramophones spin sparkling sounds, haunting whistles rise and fall and shimmering flowers dance to their own tune.

The five international artists; Mark Anderson, Anne Bean, Jony Easterby, Ulf Mark Pedersen and Kirsten Reynolds create remarkable site-specific installations which transform public spaces into magical nocturnal environments.Though each of their work is driven by different concerns, they all have a passion for working in the outside environment, and the challenges that this involves, united also by an idiosyncratic approach to their art, often comprised of old and new technologies bolted together, in a rather ad hoc manner.

Power Plant is conceived by the artists as a single work, particularly with regard to the sound balance between installations, and across the whole site. They consider themselves gardeners of the imagination, planting and nuturing works as their creations are often delicate and need constant attention to keep them working in sometimes hostile environments.

- Outdoor performance
- Entry to Power Plant is in small groups every 15 minutes. Once you are in the venue take your time until close.
- Please wear comfortable shoes. There are hills and steps on the walk
