RÉPERTOIRE- Hip Hop Frequencies & Visual Sequences fuses together different hip hop frequencies, meshing the sounds of six MC’s from all over Tāmaki Makaurau with the visual sequences of six street artists from South Auckland’s FDKNS.
Co-produced by hip hop radio station, REPFM, this event is a powerful artistic response to provocations that range from the histories from mana whenua, stories of Auckland’s past, and contemporary issues debated with local leaders.
A sucker-punch of creativity that captures the pulse of the city, this one-night-only event is designed especially for Auckland Arts Festival’s Whānui and White Night programmes.
Co-produced by REPFM and Auckland Arts Festival, in association with Te Puawai O Nga Whakatupuranga Hou and Painting for the People Mural Arts Initiative.
Whānui is a communal adventure: a collection of participatory arts projects in which an amazing mix of people who call Auckland home create, join in with and experience artworks in the many spaces and places that form our neighbourhoods – parks, streets, town centres, marae and places of worship.
Our Whānui projects come from creative partnerships between established artists and the creative communities of Tāmaki Makaurau.
