a gateway to the arts across all of Auckland
- White Night 2016 Participant
Tāmaki Makaurau’s White Night is a unique opportunity created by Auckland Arts Festival to see the city enlivened with a diverse range of arts activities.
For one night only, an ever-changing roster of artists take over the city, bringing you a diverse range of art, music and theatrical events on and off the streets and in spaces and places you may not even know exist.
Inspired by Nuit Blanche (Paris’s White Night), it’s a time for gathering friends and family under the night sky and stroll through your local neighbourhood or the city centre to engage with well-known artists and artistic newbies.
The full White Night programme including listings of visual arts shows, tiny parades, acrobats, light activations, art demonstrations, poetry readings and conversations plus much more will be available on the White Night mini site from February 2017.
There’ll be downloadable pdf maps of White Night events in your local neighbourhoods and you can search by location or theme ( family friendly, visual arts, performance, light and more).
So start making plans for your own White Night adventure! Be sure to be seen out and about on this event, which promises to be way more than your usual Saturday night!
